Generate reports for unemployment benefit requirements

Work Search Reports

When you’re receiving unemployment benefits, most states require you to actively search for work and document your job search activities. CareerTrackr’s Work Search Reports feature helps you generate professional reports that meet these requirements, making compliance easy and stress-free.

Understanding Work Search Requirements

Why Documentation Matters

Most states require unemployment benefit recipients to:

  • Actively search for work each week
  • Document all job search activities
  • Report activities when claiming benefits
  • Keep records for potential audits

Failure to meet these requirements can result in:

  • Delayed or denied benefits
  • Requirement to repay benefits
  • Penalties or disqualification
CareerTrackr automatically tracks all your job search activities, making it simple to generate compliant reports whenever needed.

What Counts as a Work Search Activity?

Common qualifying activities include:

  • Job Applications: Submitting applications online or in person
  • Interviews: Phone, video, or in-person interviews
  • Networking: Professional networking events or meetings
  • Job Fairs: Attending career fairs or hiring events
  • Recruiter Meetings: Meeting with staffing agencies or recruiters
  • Follow-ups: Following up on previous applications
  • Profile Creation: Creating profiles on job boards
  • Skills Development: Job-related training or workshops
Each state has specific requirements. CareerTrackr provides state-specific guidance to help ensure your activities qualify.
